Starting a trend

Ok so you lovely fashion bloggers may see this title and automatically associate this with fashion, which is perfectly fine :)  Myself though I see the word trend and I automatically assume there is a list of results for some specific case and there is a pattern between these results or a trend.  Just to say this came from me walking from the bus stop to my flat and I went past a fountain that is usually on so I would normally get soaked and everyone was avoiding it like there was some guy waiting for someone to walk past to soak them.  It shortens the journey to my front door by about 2mins, which isn't much but when you've had a long day at uni it makes all the difference.  So yeah as I was walking alone on my path I thought ooooo I'm setting a trend ha!  I know I know but at the same time now that I had walked that way other people would notice and follow.  Now as a scientist I wanted to wait and test my theory but as a tired wet human I wanted my warm cosy flat more :)

A basic graph showing the usage of search engines, simple trends.

A path that has already been marked out is easy to follow but making your own can be so daunting and scary!  But we're back to that good old natural instinct we have named fear.  I am constantly seeking to make my own path.  Now I dont claim I never follow in someone else's footsteps.  For instance you could say I'm following my parents since they are both teachers but at the same time the routes they took to get there were completely different to mine.  So you dont have to do something insane that no one else has done before to make your own path all you have to do is find your unique way of doing what is it you want.  You dont have to be too far off someone else's path and sometimes it feels safer to stick close but a meander off cant do you any harm once in a while the worst that could happen is you head right back to where you were but you still learnt something new :)

Fashion trends are wonderful.  It's amazing to see the creativity that exists out there and the way that it is then interpreted by each individual to fit their own shape, personality and tastes.  I am always in awe as I know I dont possess the creativity to produce something and I also know that my path doesn't lead towards fashion though I do love expressing myself with my clothes and I always like to be unique.  I would love to be the perfect fashion blogger with a post on my outfit everyday and hundreds of followers and a comprehensive knowledge of all things fashion, but that just isn't me it never has been and it never will be!  I do however want to show off my own uniqueness more as I feel my words are good but sometimes pictures can say a million times more.  So watch this space and hopefully I'll have a weekly Shibby picture to show you :)

I started this post with a simple idea in my head and then I formulated whole paragraphs!  It's rather strange and I hope it makes for a good read :)

I shall now update you on how my first week of uni is going :)  It has been amazingly awesome =)  I cant wait to get into school and start teaching!  It's been mainly introductory lectures and blah but we've played lots of fun games to get to know each other and everyone is already being very supportive of each other, it's so nice :)  Of course this is just the scientists together, none of the other silly subjects ha!  We've all kind of stuck together and the guys have already planned a football (soccer for those of you who aren't from England and dont call it the right thing!)  match against the geography guys on friday!  I'm not going to play but I think I shall go along (provided it's not raining) as I want to go to the pub after, pub + shibby = big happiness and fun times =)

I am so tired and I do have alot of work!  We've had to go through SATs (tests of students aged 13-14) which has been a good laugh and I'm pleased that I actually know a lot more than I thought I did =)  There are still bits that I am a little unsure about even in my own subject which is really bad so I must get onto that straight away!  So basically we've spent the week making sure we know our subject and getting to know each other :)  We have a field trip next week which will be mostly be biology/geography and risk assessments along with being very wet and tired but I'm looking forward to it and it'll be a good chance to bond properly and make new friends =)

Right I have work to do but first I must eat, I keep forgetting to eat as my brain is in work mode but my stomach kicks in every so often and goes oi I need feeding ya know ha!  I love food I'm just very forgetful when my mind is on other things :)

Hope you're having a fun filled week and the weather is nicer than it is here =)

Haha, science love! I'm so proud of you for doing exactly what you love - I can only hope to do that myself one day!
