Grown up party time

Tonight I'm going to a party =)  I'm really excited about it because I'll get to see one of my closest friends that I've not seen in months.  She's doing a masters at the moment so she's incredibly busy, seriously I've never known any work so hard she hardly sleeps and she's always working.  I've been trying to get her to meet up for a coffee for a while now but she's just been busy so I'm really looking forward to catching up =)  Since there's lots of food being made I've decided to make flapjacks for the occasion as they're easy to make and transport to places and most people like them :)

I have come to learn that I'm actually quite good at cooking and baking.  Recently I've made a lot of things from scratch that I never thought I would like lasagne and toad in the hole =)  They have been incredibly delicious too which is always a bonus.  It such a good feeling to make something yourself that tastes so good and people enjoy so much that all conversation stops whilst your eating =)

So my afternoon is going to consist of baking and having the dilemma of what do I wear.  I usually just put on what I want and feel most comfortable in but since it's a party I have to dress up a little.  I've recently purchased quite a few new pairs of tights that I'm dying to wear so it's going to be a decision of which ones will keep me warmest and look nicest =)

As you may have guessed its not going to be a crazy drunken loud music party it's going to be quietish (you cant have a quiet party that's just weird) with lots of home made food, wine, decent conversations and general merriment :)  I'm very much looking forward to it.

YAY my necklace from Anna's etsy shop much love has arrived.  I was really hoping it'd come for the party today and it did =)  I love it so much it's so pretty and it was wrapped so nicely I didn't want to open it =)  I shall show photos of the necklace and it's wonderful packaging in another post.  Thank you anna :)

Must check flapjacks and get ready have a wonderful sunday evening =)

That sounds like it's going to be a great time. I hope you get to spend a lot of time catching up with your friend.

Do you have your own lasagna recipe?
