December

I am sat in my living room and I'm cold!!!!! This shouldn't be the case :(  Cant afford to turn the heating on though so it's time to steal all my bf's big jumpers muhahahahhaha =)

I cant believe it's already december.  Sometimes it feels like it's gone really really fast but then other times when I try to actually remember what I was doing back in January it feels like forever ago.  Time is such a strange concept and it's not even understood.  You wont be able to find one human that can properly explain time.  I mean yeah it's to do with the sun rising and setting every day and the amount of light we get but as an actual physical concept (something that can be defined by physics) no one has a clue.  That is one annoying thing about doing something like physics, the more you understand the less you know you dont know aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhh  It can be very frustrating at times and I think it might be why my degree isn't as good as it could be as I just got annoyed that I felt I was knowing less and less even though I was understanding more bah

Today I went shopping for some card and felt tips to take into the schools so that they can make posters.  I had to really restrain myself from buying anything because when I'm in a stationary shop I want to buy all different types of paper and card and all different types of pen so that I can just make anything.  I was really tempted to get a full set of sharpie pens they were so colourful and pretty and calling out to me but I'd never use them they'd just sit in my draw looking pretty.  I think I may have some sort of magpie like obsession except instead of shinny things I like pens and keeping them in the right colour order.  Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

It's such a cold day today I really dont want to go outside again BUT pub with decent pints and science always makes for a good combination and it's being filmed by the BBC!!!!!!!!!! How cool is that?  The topic is global warming in the media, I really hope the guy rips into the media lots and I'll be dissapointed if he doesn't.  The media never tells science in the way it actually is, a piece of advice: dont believe what the media says about science it's generally not true as they dont hire scienctists they hire journalists who have no clue about science.  It's one of the many reasons I dont watch tv, read or listen to the news.  It just annoys me how they make scientists look bad when it's nothing to do with them it's some stupid journalist who has no clue about the concept they are reporting on and they generally blow it out of proportion.  Bah sorry for the moan.

Anyway I'm looking forward to a really interesting talk and some decent pints tonight, oh and awesome company always makes a night worthwhile =)

To end another Lao Tzu quote :)

Ah gosh, it is seriously so cold where I am right now...I've been shivering all day, it's crazy! But it suits the Christmas spirit, I suppose! And, I can completely relate to you on the magpie syndrome...my cousin and I always joke that my favourite colour is shiny because I'm always attracted to anything that glistens...and stationary shops, amazing, I love finding glitter glue and brightly coloured card! xxx
